Removals Advice

Make sure you use a removals company that is fully insured – We are! and documentation is in our van for viewing.
Be happy the removals company will turn up when they say they are going to – With 1st choice the proprietor will always be there not just labourers.
Be brave and throw out, eBay or have a car boot sale for items that you know longer require or will not fit in your new house.
Make sure everything is well packed with sealed tops (not overflowing!) and use smaller boxes for heavier items (i.e.: books) or bin bags are fine for lighter items such as bed linen – We can provide a packing service or just the boxes for your move.
Mark boxes so they can be put in the correct room in the new house.
Remember to clear out the loft, cupboards and sheds etc so there is no last minute panic on the move day.
Remember to take down any lights, curtains etc that will be moved to your new address.
Put bolts for beds, valuables etc in a safe place that can be easily found once at the new property.
Remember to tell gas, electric, water and council tax dept that you are moving on a particular date and take meter readings on the move day.
